Full customs control when entering Estonia from Russia

We would like to inform you, based on information provided by the Estonian Tax and Customs Board, that as of 30 September 2026, 100% customs inspections are being carried out on all persons entering Estonia through border crossing points. The luggage of every passenger entering Estonia from Russia is subject to inspection.

There may be situations where customs officers are unable to complete all procedures within the time allocated for inspecting the bus, or where proceedings are initiated against a passenger due to a detected violation.

As a result, the time required to inspect the bus may increase, or a passenger who is subject to proceedings may remain at the border.

This means that the time required to cross the border when entering Estonia is increasing at all Russian-Estonian border crossing points. Therefore, please allow for significant border delays when planning onward connections.

Passengers are required to comply with all Estonian customs regulations and EU sanctions restrictions.
